NEW THINGS SINCE OUR CLASS

Embed It (embed any document on your web page). Embed documents, asssignments, newsletters, student work, etc. You will receive both an embed code and a URL for the document.
Scratch - Student can create animations, simulations, games, interactive projects, stories, etc.
Scriblar - Real-time, multi-user, online whiteboard collaboration - audio, chat-text, images, can embed on webpage, easy to set up "on the fly."
Wetoku - Record on a web cam and get an embed code. Ideas: video journalism, invite an expert into your class, interview an author, conference with a parent, tutor a student.

Crocodoc is a free, online service that allows you to upload and markup documents, including PDF files. You can not actually edit the PDF file, but can add text, highlight, draw, and even strikeout text. When you strikeout text, it opens a new text box above the strikeout for you to edit.

You can create an account and store files on the system. It even allows multiple people to markup and collaborate on work. Crocodoc works with PDF files, Word Documents, images, and PowerPoint presentations. You can view and mark up your files online. The documents can be shared with others who can all mark the files up collaboratively. You can make revisions, highlight or strikeout text, add notes and comments. Files are stored on their servers and can be password protected.

Museum Box is an interesting Web 2.0 tool. It allows users to create virtual boxes that displays various types of media on the faces of the box. You can design the boxes to have layers, which affords viewers an opportunity to follow the research as well as develop a response to an argument presented on the museum box.

There are lots of boxes to explore before making your own. Museum Box: http://museumbox.e2bn.org/

This is a great tool for educators and students to use for sharing work, working collaboratively, and providing feedback on work.

CROCDOC

TripWOW is a free site that combines an animated musical slide show (similar to animoto or photo peach) with some geography (similar but much easier than Google Earth). But you don’t need to create student accounts and it embeds easily into edmodo. It does require an email to save (I would create a generic Gmail account for all the students to use) but the embedding feature is the best way for the students to share their work.

GET IT is a free site where you can share files in an instant. Just upload, and within seconds you will receive a website where anyone can view that file. You can even upload music files.
